Saratov Refinery Awarded ISO 9001
Saratov Refinery OJSC (a subsidiary of SIDANKO Oil Company) obtained an international quality control certificate, ISO 9001, of the year 2000 version, the enterprise's news service informs. The certificate was issued by an international company Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI, United Kingdom, quality systems auditor) that specializes in certification of companies in the fuel and petrochemical industry. The news service also said that creation and implementation of the quality management system at the refinery started in May 2002. Audit was conducted at the refinery in September 2003. As cited by the news service, according to Gennadiy Moschenko, Managing Director of the enterprise, obtaining ISO 9001 certificate makes the refinery more attractive for investors and will allow to rise to a higher level. "We attach special significance to obtaining this certificate, this is one of the most important factors of the refinery's development strategy," he said. The Saratov refinery produces over 20 types of petroleum products - gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, vacuum gasoil. In 2002, the enterprise pushed up production of its commodities three-fold, to RUR 14,425.6 mln, in 2001. Oil refining volume came to 4.6 mln tons.
