X5 Retail Group ("Group" or "X5") is the leading food retailer in Russia. X5 shares are listed on London Stock Exchange (LSE) in the form of Global Depositary Receipts.
X5 Retail Group operates several retail formats, including the chain of conveniently located proximity stores under the Pyaterochka brand, the supermarket chain under the Perekrestok brand, the hypermarket chain under the Karusel brand and Express convenience stores.
The Group's Revenue reached RUR 1,033,667 mln (US $15,420 mln) in 2016. Total net selling space exceeded 4.3 mln m2 as of 31 December 2016. In 2016, over 3.0 billion people shopped at the Group's stores. More than 196 thousand people work at the Group. As of 31 December 2016, the total number of the Group's stores was 9,187 (including Express convenience stores).
Pyaterochka, a chain of conveniently located proximity stores, is one of Russia’s leading retail brands.
Pyaterochka stores are located in residential areas close to customers’ homes, where they can always find a wide range of quality goods at value for money and private-label products. The stores’ product range consists of around 4,500 product units. An average selling space is 392 sq. m. As of 31 December 2020, Pyaterochka operated 16,709 stores.
Perekrestok is the leading high-quality fresh products supermarket chain in Russia.
Perekrestok strives to be customers’ first choice for fresh products supported by a complementary assortment and pricing strategy. Perekrestok offers a premium shopping experience and focuses on high quality, fresh, exotic or unique products. The supermarkets offer an assortment of 8,000 to 15,000 product units per store and have average selling space 1,087 sq. m. As of 31 December 2020, Perekrestok operated 933 stores.
Karusel is one of the largest hypermarket chains in Russia.
Karusel stores offer customers who plan shopping in advance a convenient one-stop value for money shopping with a wide range of quality food and non-food products in city locations. Affordable prices, regular promotions and a wide range of products allow customers to satisfy the needs of the whole family. The store’s average selling space is 3,966 sq. m with 22,000 to 30,000 product units. As of 31 December 2020, Karusel operated 56 stores.
